Somerset Historical Center 15 Miles from Snyder of BerlinThe Somerset Historical Center is a 150-acre museum, per serving the history of rural life in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Farmsteads from the 1770s and 1830s, an 1859 covered bridge, an 1860s maple sugar camp and an 1890s cider press are among the buildings, equipment and exhibits that demonstrate the life, work, arts and crafts of the region-from the first farmers to the present day. Nearby, German-heritage settlers came to a particularly wide and fertile valley, Brothersvalley, in 1771. Perhaps with thoughts toward their former home, they laid out the town of Berlin.
